This framework is implemented as the successor of Navigator/PHP. It combines simplicity and extensibility. The main purpose of the project is to provide core classes for development of three-tier applications which uses MVC and IOC design patterns.

Unlike Prado and other frameeworks Compass allows you to reuse almost any library for PHP but doesn't try to solve all your tasks. Because of that, it was used with such data abstraction layers like Creole, ADODB and PEAR variations; with presentation frameworks like Smarty and GeryEngine and so on.
It allows to produce highly reusable components that can be used in many projects.
